The Brits are back: Jensen Interceptor S

A small business, namely Jensen Interceptor Automotive (JIA) has been hard at work reproducing the classic Jensen Interceptor.  It has now been given a huge boost by the Carphone Warehouse founder Charles Dunstone.

There has been a slight name for this revival, as the Jensen Interceptor will be sold under the name as the Jensen Interceptor S. These Interceptors will be created from dead or dying out donor cars, and then modified in the appropiate manor to a new and modern ‘S’.

What’s the specification?

Jensen Interceptor S

  • independent rear suspension (from 70s/80s Jaguars)
  • 429bhp LS3 GM V8
  • four-speed auto
  • big ventilated discs from AP Racing
  • retrimmed interior

The Jensen will weight 400kg less than the originals, will hit 0-60mph in around 4.5 seconds  and will have a top speed just over 160mph.

There is a price to the exclusivity though, with the starting price at £105K and up.

It is estimated that around 18 units of these will be built per year.
